Addressing the needs of children and teenagers, adds and strengthens values  connected to social, financial and environmental sustainability

Skärholmen

The Swedish Ice Hockey Association’s initiative Hockey 2025 was a pilot study to kick start a long term development project aiming for the future. They wanted to highlight several promising examples to inspire other to follow. They wanted to exemplify and further develop and build on strong connections with schools, other sports, companies and other parts of the society. With an extra effort to address the needs of children and teenagers they wanted to add and strengthen values that are connected to social, financial as well as environmental sustainability. The goal was to improve the image of ice hockey as an attractive and accessible sport for all children and teenagers.

Hockey 2025 in Almedalen

As a way of introducing the pilot project to a bigger audience. A seminar at Almedalen was chosen as a platform for presentation. This was the first time the Swedish ice hockey Association were represented at the Almedalen. The challenges and some good examples were presented in a panel discussion. Some inspiring good examples were collected in a leaflet that was handed out during the seminar
